POSTPONED Sundays @ Shul: History of the DIA by our very own Joel Stern

Sunday, January 29, 2023 7 Sh'vat 5783

10:30 AM - 12:00 PM

The Detroit Institute of Arts is one of the crown jewels of the city of Detroit. With over 65,000 objects in its collection, the museum is considered to be among the top six art museums in the entire country, and one of the most renowned and innovative in the world. Have you ever wondered how the Institute came into existence and went on to achieve such an extraordinary and elevated status?  If so, then you will want to join us for a presentation exploring the history of the DIA - including the individuals who founded, built, and funded its collection for over 137 years. Your guide for this one-hour talk is Joel Stern who is a docent at the DIA and has focused his attention on this fascinating subject.

*The Sundays @ Shul events are designed for in-person, indoor attendance, unless otherwise noted. If accessibility needs preclude attending in-person, please register for the event and indicate "virtual access" in the notes section for a private link to be sent to you in advance of the session.
